Mike Dowling
For three years running now, Mr. Mike Dowling has played Coolwater in January, and every time he has filled it up to capacity. His swingy groove is contagious, that silky smooth voice rocks and croons with equal amounts of power and grace.
Mike has a special place in my heart….his was the music that triggered something in me that made me know I wanted to somehow be involved with live music. If volunteering my time and energy so that those of us fortunate enough to be in attendance can hear a Mike Dowling, then I’ll feel as if I’ve had some purpose in this lifetime.
Mike and his wife Jan stayed an extra day to conduct the workshop here….They were wonderful, and went so far as to help do a temporary fix on my fence so that my horses could get out of the barn once in a while. As far as I can tell, I’ll try to schedule them for next January as well…it seems to be a magic time for them and for Coolwater.
