September first of 2007 was another delightful evening with John Danley. The house was packed, and great music and lots and lots of laughter made the evening perfect. John, with his beautiful and exciting music, along with his wit and often hysterical commentary kept the audience on their toes AND rolling in the aisles…no small feat. The evening could not have gone better. This write up comes very late for the gallery page, but the events that followed on the heels of this concert was life altering for a lot of people, John Danley and myself included. September 2nd was the day John and I were in a collision with a Jeep Wrangler that had gone out of control and flipped into oncoming traffic. The tragedy of that day was well documented, and the sorrow that I continue to feel for the loss of a beautiful young lady will haunt me for the rest of my days. Physical injuries notwithstanding, it is the mental aspect of disasters like this that have the most difficult time mending. I want to express the deep appreciation I have for those of you who showed concern for me, for those of you who took time out of their lives to help. I also appreciate the help and support of the Oakhurst Lion’s Club who helped me organize the benefit concert that raised scholarship money in the name of Ashley Sala. Thank you all so very much. I look forward to Mr. Danley coming back to the ranch some day to do another show. I know it will be a long time in coming, but I also know it will be worth the wait. New experiences for John will give him fodder for a whole new jaw dropping show. Thank you all. |
