CAST OF CHARACTERS

The ranch has several permanent occupants, whose varied personalities help keep the balance. Let me introduce you to them…

Destry….he is the baby, and like most children, everything goes in the mouth.  Please do not feed him your fingers.

Indy….is Destry’s older brother, AKA ‘equus perfectus’

Bingo….a very sweet boy, little schizo  so I only took a picture of his good side.

TOBY THE WONDER HORSE
1971-JULY 28, 2005

A sad, sad day for Coolwater Ranch. Toby, my true blue steed for the past25 years passed away in July. He bounced back time and again from age related problems, but he finally went his way in July.

The days just prior to his final bout he was well and happy, trotting and cantering around the ranch, prying open gates and as always, always…up to no good.

Happy Trails Tobe…you were the best teacher I have ever had.

Tiff…The resident musician.  Tossed from home to home as a youngster, she wound up with me.

Tiff the harp playing cat. She has an evil brain, plays the harp to throw people off.

Tiff on the jumbotron.

Welcome to the latest feline to grace Coolwater. He replaces the sweet and loving Graystoke who finally succumbed to thyroid cancer. Vger was a feral cat, turned hopelessly tame by a can of tuna. He seems quite pleased with this new arrangement.

Suttree, named after one of my favorite novels, this drifter slunk onto my property and stayed.  He was recently taken for a test flight by a gray owl, but weighing in at nearly 18 pounds, the big bird decided Suttree was not worth the trouble.

Scout…This once svelt little girl has turned into a flocked football. She showed up same time Suttree did.

DEPARTING COOLWATER….

Some big changes this month for Coolwater Ranch. The feral cat formerly known as Nasty has found a cozy home with a loving couple in Coarsegold, and Bob Kaspar has gone on, or gone back, to greener pastures. Bob has been an integral part of Coolwater almost since its inception and his pervasive presence will be missed. Much thanks goes out to Bob for his assistance and guidance in this concert series, and we wish him well on his new endeavors.

This Concert Series will continue to thrive and grow in new directions, and though those that have left us will be sorely missed, the series is strong and well and booked well into next year. Thank you all for your continued support to help bring great things to our mountain community.
