David Jacobs-Strain

WOW.

David Jacobs-Strain from Eugene Oregon ROCKED Coolwater Ranch last Saturday evening. I’ve always loved blues, but I’ve never heard the genre so raucously, rambunctiously, re-defined as I did on Sept. 27th by David Jacobs-Strain. At first glance, this young man looks like a teen who probably practices Air Guitar in his spare time. But, oh no. David Jacobs-Strain at the early age of 25, has mastered the blues genre, the technique, the blues guitar, that bluesy voice that is about 60% rock and roll, the ability to write great compositions and the ability to cover old blues tunes so that they are as fresh as High Sierra snowmelt.

It was rhythmic, dynamic, LOUD, and for my taste…perfectly executed to suit the style of music David was presenting. I loved every heartfelt note. Every single one. I am delighted to have nabbed David before his trajectory gets a little too steep. This is a young man who has every bit of talent, soul, stage presence, good attitude, pleasant nature and knowledge of what works to go a very long ways. Major kudos to David, and I hope I can bring him back here at some point in the future.

Top notch show, all the way.
